This book is about two detectives and a series of crime.Detective Somerset has just seven more days
Before he retires and he wasnÂ’t to get through them as easily as possible.Detective Mills is from Springfield and he brings to work on homicidewith Detective Somerset.
One day;they found a very fat man who was sitting at the table with his face in a plate of spaghetti.He ate a lot and he died.Doctors thought that he had been poisoned.And there were blue things around the victim’s mouth.The next morning they learned that Eli Gould who was a defense lawyer had died.And at his office floor there was an inscription in blood which read “Greed”.Somerset and Mills couldn’t understand what was going on.Next morning they learned that one other man died.And behind his refrigerator there was an inscription which read “Gluttony”.Two detectives wanted to find a link between the two words:Gluttony and greed.And the next day when they were working about that Tracy (Mills’s wife) called Somerset and she invited him for dinner.This evening they had an enjoyable dinner.Next morning they talked to Mrs Gould to find out something about her husband’s crime.They showed her a lot of photos.And she said that a painting had moved in her husband’s office.And they went straight to Gould’s office and they saw an inscription too.”Help me!” But this time they had a link,they had fingerprints of a homicide.Next day,they found the man who had this fingerprints,they went to his house,they saw one body and they found an inscription which read”Sloth”.After they learned that his apartment was haven Joe Doe.This evening Joe Doe called Mills and said to him that he admired him.Next day Tracy called Somerset and said to him that she was expecting a baby and wanted to move with Mills.She didn’t like this city.That afternoon they found a body too.That was a woman.The first thing Mills saw was the word on the wall over the bed “Pride” then underneath “I Did Not Kill Her.She Was Able To Choose.”Next day they caught Joe Doe.But he had killed Tracy and opened her stomach,took her baby and put in a box.He gave the box to Mills.When Mills saw that and learned all,he fired his gun and killed Joe Doe.
Mills went to prison but he was happy.After that Somerset changed his mind and he didinÂ’t want to retire.He knew he could never leave now.With Mills gone someone had to stay to fight the fight.
